56101 - Preservation Progress
The First Update
April/Early May 2009. Post by Oli - It's been a busy month! Restoration on 56101 is well and truely underway, as the following selection of photos, taken by Sean, show. Work carried out so far includes the replacement of the smashed drivers windscreen, fitting of the loco bus-bars and distributors, fitting of the BIS (battery iso switch) and work has also started on the air intake grills, some of which have pretty bad corrosion. A replacement battery charger has been sourced and this is nearly ready to be fitted. The photos below come from Sean Sharples.
